Hello Members!  Let me just say I am so happy to be serving as your president for the 2021-2022 term.  The AE, Staff, and I have worked together to form a full slate of volunteer committees to serve our membership.   I had the pleasure of recording our annual RPAC dues message this past week so be sure to watch out for the #doitwithdues campaign.

I'm looking forward to attending several of the installations for the other Associations in Maryland and collaborating with fellow Presidents and their AE's to help move our organization forward.

I've been meeting with Kathy McFadden to put in place protocols for meetings and have met with the re-opening task force to make sure we provide exceptional in-person service and events for our members.  I'm also planning to attend several elected official functions along with Veronica Rolocut and other members to keep on the forefront of the political agendas and happening in and around the county and state. I'm looking forward to several upcoming events that include Coffee Talk on October 28th and our annual Trade Show/Expo on November 2nd which is sure to be a great event!

Most of all, I want you all to know that I am here for you. I am looking forward to working with our wonderful staff and amazing AE, Kathy McFadden, to enhance the member benefits experience for our REALTORS® and affiliates and improve our reputation in the community where we live and work.

Yours in service,
Heather Schafer Adkins

A Message from the President, Chris Drewer

I hope all of our members are having a prosperous year so far! The market is very active and it does not seem to be slowing anytime soon. We have accomplished numerous things at the Association in the last few months and cannot wait to share them with everyone. We look forward to seeing everyone in person as we roll out some of our Spring and Summer events. Take care and happy home selling!

A Message From The President – I want to wish all of our members a safe and Happy Holiday season! I know this was a trying year for most people but our industry continued to help clients to buy and sell homes when needed. I was impressed with how our industry adapted to virtual methods when meeting in-person was not possible.

I am hopeful that 2021 will be a healthy year. As we look back on 2020, we can be thankful for the positive impact we may have made!

A Message from the President, Chris Drewer

The first week of my 2020-2021 term as your President has already been a wild ride!  I had the pleasure of moderating the legislative Coffee Talk event on my first day, followed by recording a short RPAC video that the members will see soon!  I met with Kathy McFadden, CEO, to discuss some initiatives that I think are important to tackle in the coming year.

I strongly support the advancement of technology within the Association and, hopefully, will be looking at some more effective ways to communicate and hold meetings through these ever-changing times.  We also started a Diversity and Inclusion Awareness Committee that will focus on many topics that are relevant right now.  I would also like to see more involvement in the NAR C2EX program and more training on Professionalism.

I am excited to work with the Board of Directors and Staff to give world class service to our members.  The Association was recently remodeled.  If you have not seen it yet, be sure to check out the video tour on Facebook.  I hope to see everyone in virtual meetings and hopefully in person for some live events soon!  I’m all ears, if you have any ideas that you think would make our Association better!

Past President's Messages

A Message from the President, George B. Hall

As I finish my year as President, I want to thank all of you for your support and service. The Executive Board, Board of Directors, Kathy McFadden and staff, along with the Chair, Co-Chairs and Members of our 22 committees were able to keep the Association functioning as normal as possible.
It has been a trying year at best, having to cancel or reschedule a lot of our membership driven events. I look forward to thanking all of you, in-person, when Covid-19 is over.

It is hard to believe that my last Board of Directors meeting as President will be taking place this coming Thursday. It will be a busy meeting with approving the 2020-2021 Budget, reviewing the 2020-2021 Slate of Officers and making decisions on how to move forward with the 60th Anniversary/Installation of Officers event.

I give props to the NAR President and all REALTORS®, Local Presidents, and State Presidents who started their year with high hopes of achieving the goals they set for their Associations only to be met with historical challenges.  As REALTORS®, we are resourceful and able to adjust quickly. Who would have thought most of our communications would be through ZOOM or Ring Central platforms? The market in Harford County is “HOT” and inventory is low which has resulted in multiple offers on each property. We are in unique times and our Association has still been able to be open and service our members. Please don’t hesitate to contact the Association, if you need anything.

Thank you again for your support and service this year!
Presisdent's Message - April 2020

Hope you and your family are well and enjoying the Summer as much as one can during this Pandemic. I know some REALTORS® are remarkably busy, but a lot of you are feeling the effects of the economic downturn. The housing inventory is very low and when listings go active, are experiencing multiple offers and don’t last long on the market making for interesting times.

The Association is keeping up with the demands of the industry by providing many services and virtual CE Classes. We are hearing rave reviews from our members who have taken the virtual CE classes over the last couple of weeks. The Education Committee has worked hard to provide this service to our members.

Also, I am looking forward to working with your colleague on our legislative breakfast project, Coffee Talk.
As of October 1, 2021 we will have a new president, Heather Schafer Adkins.

Stay tuned for her welcome message to you all!
