I strongly support the advancement of technology within the Association and, hopefully, will be looking at some more effective ways to communicate and hold meetings through these ever-changing times. We also started a Diversity and Inclusion Awareness Committee that will focus on many topics that are relevant right now. I would also like to see more involvement in the NAR C2EX program and more training on Professionalism.
I am excited to work with the Board of Directors and Staff to give world class service to our members. The Association was recently remodeled. If you have not seen it yet, be sure to check out the video tour on Facebook. I hope to see everyone in virtual meetings and hopefully in person for some live events soon! I’m all ears, if you have any ideas that you think would make our Association better!
A Message from the President, George B. Hall
As I finish my year as President, I want to thank all of you for your support and service. The Executive Board, Board of Directors, Kathy McFadden and staff, along with the Chair, Co-Chairs and Members of our 22 committees were able to keep the Association functioning as normal as possible.
It has been a trying year at best, having to cancel or reschedule a lot of our membership driven events. I look forward to thanking all of you, in-person, when Covid-19 is over.
It is hard to believe that my last Board of Directors meeting as President will be taking place this coming Thursday. It will be a busy meeting with approving the 2020-2021 Budget, reviewing the 2020-2021 Slate of Officers and making decisions on how to move forward with the 60th Anniversary/Installation of Officers event.
I give props to the NAR President and all REALTORS®, Local Presidents, and State Presidents who started their year with high hopes of achieving the goals they set for their Associations only to be met with historical challenges. As REALTORS®, we are resourceful and able to adjust quickly. Who would have thought most of our communications would be through ZOOM or Ring Central platforms? The market in Harford County is “HOT” and inventory is low which has resulted in multiple offers on each property. We are in unique times and our Association has still been able to be open and service our members. Please don’t hesitate to contact the Association, if you need anything.
Thank you again for your support and service this year!
Presisdent's Message - April 2020
Hope you and your family are well and enjoying the Summer as much as one can during this Pandemic. I know some REALTORS® are remarkably busy, but a lot of you are feeling the effects of the economic downturn. The housing inventory is very low and when listings go active, are experiencing multiple offers and don’t last long on the market making for interesting times.
The Association is keeping up with the demands of the industry by providing many services and virtual CE Classes. We are hearing rave reviews from our members who have taken the virtual CE classes over the last couple of weeks. The Education Committee has worked hard to provide this service to our members.
Also, I am looking forward to working with your colleague on our legislative breakfast project, Coffee Talk.
